The HoyaMind
Project Overview
Student wellness is a significant challenge currently faced by higher education. Many graduate students experience burnout, stress, and anxiety. However, university support systems often remain underutilized. One possible reason for this is that these systems may not be designed to effectively assist students who are struggling, due to insufficient communication channels. HoyaMind offers a solution by reimagining how to bridge this gap with an AI-driven, Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) system. This system aims to connect students with existing mental health and wellness resources, providing personalized suggestions tailored to their specific needs.
HoyaMind is a mobile app prototype that conducts a brief yet insightful check-in, assesses the user’s level of burnout using adaptive techniques, and recommends suitable wellness resources available at Georgetown University.
